This week’s Craft Roulette Episode 300 was such a joy to watch — host Mary Gunn Funn and guests Maymay Helms and Vinnie brought so much energy, creativity, and laughter to the milestone celebration. I don’t always have the time to participate, but this week’s parameters spoke directly to my creative spirit. It felt like the perfect moment to jump in.

When I first saw Purse Card, I’ll admit — I almost backed away. But then I remembered a 3D project that has been sitting on my “must‑try” list forever. What better time than a milestone episode to finally make it happen?
👜 My Project: Easy Chapstick Holder Purse
I created an Easy Chapstick Holder Purse using scraps, inspired by Tash Marie Makes. This little 3D project was the perfect fit for the challenge and such a fun way to stretch creatively.
🎨 1990’s Color Vibes
To capture the 90’s aesthetic, I designed a jean‑inspired background paper in Canva. Denim was everywhere in the 90’s — jackets, overalls, backpacks — so it felt like the perfect nostalgic nod.
🦊 Outdoor Critter(s)
For my critter element, I used the adorable fox from the Art Impressions 6105 – Fall Keepsake Set. I watercolored him for a soft, warm, handmade feel that complements the purse perfectly.
🧵 Random Element: Textile
I incorporated the textile parameter in two ways:
- The denim‑style background paper
- A ribbon bow tied onto the purse handle
Both added texture and charm without overwhelming the design.
💛 Final Thoughts
Craft Roulette always pushes me in the best ways, and Episode 300 was no exception. I’m so glad I carved out the time to play along. This little purse project reminded me how fun it is to try something new and let inspiration lead the way.
